July 9, 2013: Inspiring Quote

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

The book The 4:8 Principle was amazing!   It seems only fitting that it be my new favorite quote.

So, so simple.  Who could be unhappy if we spend all of our time dwelling on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, and praiseworthy!?

Not quite as simple in the real world where everything is trying to bring you down, huh?   The book has a whole section on how to guard yourself!

In the meantime, when things are going bad and nothing seems right…

July 8th, 2013: A Day in the Life of Me

Funny thing!  I had a request for this once before!  

Here it is!  

This is an edited version to more fit the topic.  😉

—Wake up 4:30am (when my husband’s alarm goes off). Sometimes I roll over and go back to sleep; sometimes I get up, and I go talk to him while he gets ready to head out. Sometimes I can’t get back to sleep so I read or blog. ;-)

My alarm goes off at 7:00am. I may, or I may not get up. ;-) The kids are usually in my room by 7:30am. Baby snuggle buddies are the BEST!! This, of course, makes it even HARDER to get out of bed…

On a normal day we get up, shower, eat, and get school lunch ready. Then, we drop the Big Man at school. The baby and I then run errands, clean, or lay around. :-) It all just depends on what needs to be done and how I feel that day.

We go to school pick up, and then we head home (or to the Botanical Gardens, park or beach).

More playing is usually involved.  (During school months.)

We start fixing dinner before Daddy gets home, so it’s ready when Daddy gets here (this is on an ideal day…not EVERY day).

Daddy comes home; we eat; we hang out for a while. Then, it’s bath and bed for the boys. The old folks (the husband and I) may stay up for a LITTLE while to hang out, but normally we head to bed shortly after the boys to watch TV there… We are often asleep by 10ish. I know it’s sad, but we are getting old!!!

Add a couple church visits in there a couple times a week… A ship visit, if we are lucky, on duty days; the boys LOVE that. And as I explained in a previous blog, Saturdays are becoming Bass Pro Shop days. :-)

Blogging at 430am is a rarity, so I usually blog in the morning after ACTUALLY waking up.  If time doesn’t permit, I do it the evening before bed.  Writing has ceased until the summer chaos is done.  That will restart after school; DURING school.  (I can’t wait!)

July 6th 2013: Self Evaluation (LATE!)

I try not to do it…  😉

If I did it properly, I would probably NEVER post anything.

I am SURE it can be VERY useful, and someday I will put into practice.  As I am just starting out, my main goals are to write something worth reading and to get it out in words people will understand/desire to read.

Decisions, Decisions

I can’t decide if I want to do July’s #wpad challenge.  I mean, I WANT to, but a lot of it is stuff that I have already answered in June’s Challenge.  Should I do it again anyways?

Day 1: What I write.

I write Daily Lessons.  Who am I to give lessons to the world??  Just me.  Little ol’ me.  Trying to get through life one day(ly lesson) at a time. 😉

Day 28: Daily Read

The First Place Award for my daily read goes to…..(drum roll)….. my “Reader”.  That is definitely the closes thing I have to a “daily” read.  Second Place would be my Bible.  Yes, I do believe it should be first, and I am working on it.

Since I do try to blog daily (at least), I find myself checking out everyone else’s stuff, also.  It’s kind of like my information center.  I do not read the newspaper.  I do not look up things and “surf” the internet, very much.  So, I search keywords on here, and I see what everyone else is doing from there.

This probably limits my knowledge of the world, but oh well.   I do catch up a few times a months by watching Fox News.  😉  (I love watching Bill and Hannity!)  

Now I’ve gone waaaaaaay off subject!  😉  Back to business.

I do believe the Bible should be my daily read, and sometimes it is!  Then, sometimes it’s my every 3rd day read.  :-/  I realized this morning I hadn’t been to church in two weeks already, and I am really missing it.  I need to work on keeping my Bible as my front read in times like this.  You would never believe how much daily living information is in there.  If you have a question, God has an answer!  I was always told that as a child, and after completing my nine month Bible study, I have seen it with my two, very own eyes!!

So, in conclusion…  I have rambled and rambled.  I hope at least a bit of it makes sense.  😉  (lol)  I read what you are telling me here, and I read what God tells me.  Take that as you may.  🙂
