July 8th, 2013: A Day in the Life of Me

Funny thing!  I had a request for this once before!

Here it is!

This is an edited version to more fit the topic.  😉

—Wake up 4:30am (when my husband’s alarm goes off). Sometimes I roll over and go back to sleep; sometimes I get up, and I go talk to him while he gets ready to head out. Sometimes I can’t get back to sleep so I read or blog. ;-)

My alarm goes off at 7:00am. I may, or I may not get up. ;-) The kids are usually in my room by 7:30am. Baby snuggle buddies are the BEST!! This, of course, makes it even HARDER to get out of bed…

On a normal day we get up, shower, eat, and get school lunch ready. Then, we drop the Big Man at school. The baby and I then run errands, clean, or lay around. :-) It all just depends on what needs to be done and how I feel that day.

We go to school pick up, and then we head home (or to the Botanical Gardens, park or beach).

More playing is usually involved.  (During school months.)

We start fixing dinner before Daddy gets home, so it’s ready when Daddy gets here (this is on an ideal day…not EVERY day).

Daddy comes home; we eat; we hang out for a while. Then, it’s bath and bed for the boys. The old folks (the husband and I) may stay up for a LITTLE while to hang out, but normally we head to bed shortly after the boys to watch TV there… We are often asleep by 10ish. I know it’s sad, but we are getting old!!!

Add a couple church visits in there a couple times a week… A ship visit, if we are lucky, on duty days; the boys LOVE that. And as I explained in a previous blog, Saturdays are becoming Bass Pro Shop days. :-)

Blogging at 430am is a rarity, so I usually blog in the morning after ACTUALLY waking up.  If time doesn’t permit, I do it the evening before bed.  Writing has ceased until the summer chaos is done.  That will restart after school; DURING school.  (I can’t wait!)

***McCrazy Daily Lesson:  We should do our best to make the most of the time we have.  It’s the one thing we can NEVER get back!***

Childlike Wisdom and Logic

My three-year-old has taken to wanting to “run like Daddy”, so he likes to get out of the stroller and run, now. We love this. Anything exercise is, of course, great!

Yesterday morning, we went running before church. Derek immediately took off running as fast as his little legs would take him! He is SO cute when he does this. 🙂 About 3 minutes in, he began to stop and walk. Then, he would run again. And so on and so forth… Daddy started asking him to please run or get in the stroller, since we had to get back and get ready for church. His reply was classic. When he would stop running he said it was because, “I am downloading a game”. Once the game was done downloading, he could run again… (wink wink). This went on for about five more minutes before we finally requested he download in the stroller. 🙂

How awesome is it to be THREE! No, he was not TIRED from running… He was simply downloading a game. 🙂

After church, we went to the beach. The boys LOVE THE BEACH. We played in the sand and water for about two hours, and then we headed home. On the way home, my three-year-old looks up in the sky and says, “Jesus is up there”.

Why yes, Derek, He is up there. 🙂 I love it that my child is looking for God in different places!

Isn’t it great to be a child??! Everything is so simple. Our faith is even more simple. My children don’t question God, or that God does things. They just believe.

Wouldn’t life be easier if WE did that??

***McCrazy Daily Lesson: Just believe!! We have to put our faith in God, and let go of the wheel!! Take a rest and “download a game” while God does the driving***

I can promise, from personal experience, that life is better when He is driving! Is it all bows and ribbons? No. It is more fulfilling and less worrisome though. 😉
