One evening a man was gathering things in, and out, of his car; getting ready for work the next day. When the man was done, he closed his car doors and headed towards his house. He got six steps from the car when he realized he had locked his keys in the car. The man rushed back to his car, and sure enough, there were his keys. They were sitting in the front passengers side of the car.
He walked around to each door, and the trunk, to double check they were locked.
Yes, they were locked.
The man began to panic. Things were in the car that he needed for work the next day. How would he get them out in time?
“I’ll bust the window out”, the man says aloud.
His wife had been standing there, by the car, thinking. She was trying to figure out how to get them out. “Calm down and let’s think about this before you go breaking windows”, she said.
“I’ll do what I have to to get my stuff out for work. I need that stuff”, her husband replied.
“Call a locksmith. It may be a bit more expensive, this time of the evening, but at least you’d have your keys AND all your windows”, she said next.
As her husband began to search for a locksmith to call, the wife began checking windows. The car was a little older. She herself had locked her keys in a car when she was younger. Before she could say anything, the man asked her if they had a clothes hanger in the house.
“Now we’re thinking!”, she thought.
She went and got the clothes hanger. The man and his wife spoke about how to proceed next and the man went to work trying to pop the lock with the hanger.
While they were out there, a neighbor stopped by. The neighbor and wife chatted a bit.
Then, that’s when it happened.
A car drove by. It was a new neighbor. He waved. Everyone waved back.
The new neighbor parked at his house and yelled down the group standing by the car, “did you lock your keys in the car?”
“Yes!”, said the wife.
Within a couple minutes the new neighbor was coming down the road with a kit designed, specifically, to get into cars. What are the chances?!?!?
Within five minutes, after that, the door was open and the keys were out. No broken anything.
